The Brunelli wines come from vineyards at San Pietro in Cariano, to the northwest of Verona in the historic Valpolicella Classico zone. The special nature of this area is due to its unique soil, the presence of only indiginous grape varieties, and to the particular method of production - found nowhere else in the world - which consists of semi-drying the grapes, especially in order to make the famous Recioto and Amarones. Over the course of the years the Brunelli's have added to the estate, new holdings have now been obtained in Piedmonte and Custoza, bringing their total area under vine to 12 hectares.
Bunches of grapes, predominantly Corvina, are carefully selected from the highly rated Campo Praesel site (from where it gets its name). Matured for 18 months in traditional Slavonian oak casks, this wine offers greater body and roundness in comparison to standard Valpolicella Classico. Medium bodied with lively tannins and acidity and lovely plump, dark cherries on the finish.
Food Match: the perfect pizza wine or with lighter pasta dishes.
