If you're not really in the mood to shell out for expensive Sancerre or Pouilly Fume, try some of the lesser known wines of Loire, which because they fall outside the bounderies of these two famous regions, offer terrific value and quality.
Quincy ( pronounced "can see" ), is a Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc village 60 km southwest of Sancerre where they produce a little cracker of a wine that S/blanc lovers like to keep as a secret for themselves. Just a bit more voluptuous and a little more exotic than its famous cousin, it's also easier on the wallet, always being 3 - 4 cheaper than a bottle of Sancerre.
Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc and never oaked, it is full of lime & mineral aromas. Very elegant with crisp lemon/lime fruit, cut through with a delicious mineral streak. Great acidity and an extra long citrussy finish.
Beautiful with Asian food, fish and even goats cheese.
