The Puelles family have been making wine in Abalos (La Rioja) for as long as anyone can remember, (1844 actually). Moderate yields using ecologically friendly methods, (no chemical fertilisers or herbicides here), coupled with a respect for the environment, gives wines true to their terroir and history. It's this special combination of soil, microclimate, varieties and centuries of know how that make their wines so unique.
Made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Otras (huh?), hand picked and undergoing a minimum of 6 months in French & American oak. The wine has an intense cherry colour and bouquet of wild black and red berries with just a hint of mature oak. A full and fruity wine with exquisite tannins and discreet woodiness, forceful and succulent.
