Certainly among the biggest producers we've dealt with are Bodegas Virgen del Aguila, but their attention to detail and traditional winemaking practices ensure quality remains extremely high and the wines are typical examples from this underrated region. Named after the Paniza valley in Carinena in northern Spain, where the grapes are grown, they are young, easy drinking wines with a colourful, sleek and modern image.
Wonderful red blend featuring 40% Tempranillo, 30% Garnacha and 30% Syrah. Medium bodied with spicy black cherry and blackberry fruit, a rich and warm finish ending with nice soft tannins.
Food Match: beef, pasta, casseroles.
