Made by the award winning Muscadet producer Domaine du Haut Bourg (which we also stock), they have planted 2 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc in the town of Bouaye. Established in 1945 with some vines stretching back over 60 years, the winemakers Herve and Nicolas Choblet use as few chemicals or preservatives as possible, showing a healthy respect for nature that comes across in the finished article.
This is our extremely popular 'house white' and probably our biggest selling wine. Why? Great quality at a great price. Remember this is a Sauvignon Blanc grown in the same region as the famous (and pricy), Sancerre and Pouilly Fume.
Made almost in a New Zealand style it also features in 'The Best of Wine in Ireland' - "mineral fruits with lean, green freshness, finishing on a nice chalky note with some pear drops. Very pleasant drinking". It's crisp, aromatic with lovely, zesty citrus fruit, one sip and you'll know why it flies off the shelf.
