The Puelles family have been making wine in Abalos (La Rioja) for as long as anyone can remember, (1844 actually). Moderate yields using ecologically friendly methods, (no chemical fertilisers or herbicides here), coupled with a respect for the environment, gives wines true to their terroir and history. It's this special combination of soil, microclimate, varieties and centuries of know how that make their wines so unique.
Made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% others, hand picked and aged for a minimum of 3 years in barrel and bottle before release. A mellow palate of baked red fruits with soft oak. Plush and alluring, this is classic Rioja with soft tannins and a subtle, complex finish.
Goes well with Asian foods, roast chicken, lamb & beef. Basically a great all rounder!
