Chateau La Reyne is situated in Puy l'Eveque on the banks of the Lot river. Owned and operated by Johan & Cristelle Vidal ,the estate is planted with mainly Cot (Malbec) and a small amount of Merlot & Tannat.
We have chosen their Prestige Cuvée as we feel it is the perfect example of what can be achieved with Malbec in this region. Aged in tank and barrique for 20 months this wine is a revelation.
We have recently received the new 2007 vintage which is a very dark in colour ,with an amazingly complex nose of black fruit and vanilla. A Full bodied rich palate with a grip of tannin on the finish. Drinking really nicely now but we expect this wine to improve further over the next couple of years. This really is a must try wine.
Food Match: steak, casseroles.
