Situated in the Macon region of Burgundy, more known for their whites, this tiny vineyard of only 10ha, devotes 7ha to Chardonnay, 2ha to Gamay and only 1ha to Pinot Noir. But what a Pinot they make - old vines of up to 65 years, coupled with excellent south facing location mean they get maximum exposure to the sun, all combine to give a red that delivers way above its price point. Hand harvested, no pesticides used and the wine is then aged for 9 months in oak to give it added concentration. Made by a husband and wife team, this is one of our most popular Burgundies.
Charming Pinot at its delicate best with the lightest of of sweet fruit, all cherries and redcurrants, with a refined elegance and an easy, ripe, finish. Supple tannins in a lovely, rounded red. A really good food wine, that will actually improve over the next 2 - 3 years.
